What happens when the brain is damaged?

3. Skull cracks or penetrating injuries can tear the layers of protective cells (meninges) surrounding the brain. This can enable germs to enter the mind and cause infections. An infection of the meninges (meningitis) might infect the nervous system’s remainder if not dealt with.
4. Capillary damages. Several small or large blood vessels in the brain might be damaged in a stressful mind injury. This damage can result in a stroke, blood clots, or other troubles.
