When should you hire an attorney?

So I have a lot of people ask me when I should hire an attorney for an auto accident and the answer to that is usually at the early stages of the case. Obviously, at the time of the accident, I want you to go ahead and call the police, make sure that there’s some documentation as far as what happened. If you’re hurt, I want you to get taken care of. (seek medical treatment.) After that, it’s the perfect time to contact an attorney and make sure that they guide you through the process. You’re playing in a field where the insurance companies know what they are doing. They deal with this every day, and if you don’t have somebody backing you up, they are going to take advantage of you.
